Our Mission
Develop and launch a 2-stage solid-propellant rocket to exceed 350,000 feet in altitude, beyond the Karman Line that marks the start of outer space.

Dimensions
Length: 15' 11"
Mass: 160 lb
Materials
2024-T3 Aluminum
6061-T6 Aluminum
G12 Fiberglass
Propulsion
Ammonium perchlorate composite propellant
2,000 lbf of thrust
Propulsion Scaling
Our propellent has been specifically engineered to balance pourability and efficiency while still maintaining a slow burn rate.
We will continue to expand the size of our propulsion systems to a 152-mm diameter, 10 foot tall motor.
Flight Dynamics
Motion
Max velocity: Mach 4.9
Max acceleration: 11Gs
Critical Events
1st Stage separation at 15,000 feet
2nd Stage ignition at 35,000 feet
Apogee
1st Stage: 33,000 feet
2nd Stage: 370,000 feet
Safety
All processes are covered under detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) approved by RPI’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety
